Claire McDerment
Claire McDerment is a health professional and has been a stress management consultant for over twenty years. Her focus has been on children and she was an early advocate for the need to address stress in young children. Consequently, she has provided lectures and workshops in various community sectors, including health care, education, social services and business, and has been approached by the media over the years for her expertise in the field. She has also had articles in newspapers, journals and magazines and made appearances on radio and television.

In the school system, Claire worked with teachers and parents, and with children directly to pilot a research project testing stress management tools designed for use with pre-school and primary classrooms. As a Trustee of The Psychology Foundation of Canada, she was the author and developer of the Kids Have Stress Too!® Program (KHST!). The program is for use by parents with their young children (4-9 years). Recently she added a second KHST! program for childcare providers of children 2½ to 5 years of age.
