Dr. Maria Kokai M.A., PhD., C.Psyc.
Dr. Kokai is currently the Chief Psychologist for The Toronto Catholic District School Board. Educated at L. Eotvos University in Budapest, Hungary, she served as a school psychologist for School for the Deaf in Subotica, Yugoslavia until 1985. When she came to Canada, she worked as a part time psychologist at The George Hull Centre for Children and Families from August 1987 until May 1988. Dr Kokai joined the Toronto Catholic District School Board in August of that year and became Chief Psychologist in August 2004. She has been an instructor at George Brown College, OISE/UT, Toronto, a Psycho-educational consultant and saved some time for private practice.

She is a member of the Ontario Psychology Association, currently on the Board of Directors- Education Practice Area: Section on Psychology in Education. She received the 2004 OPA Award for Public Education and has served The Ontario Council on Deaf Mental Health Issues, VOICE for Hearing Impaired Children and the Learning Disabilities Association of Ontario.
