Training for Facilitators and Early Childhood Workers
A
full day experiential training course designed for professionals to assist parents and caregivers in recognizing and understanding how stress affects children. This training is for early childhood educators, family resource workers and those who work directly with parents.
Professionals will enhance their skills and knowledge of the signs and symptoms of stress shown in young children and learn how to teach age-appropriate stress management techniques designed to increase the ability for children to handle stress.
KHST® is a primary prevention program developed by The Psychology Foundation of Canada to provide tools that will increase the ability of children to handle stress.
This Training provides a rich and engaging learning environment that includes:
- A Comprehensive manual prepared by The Psychology Foundation of Canada
- High-quality materials which can be used with parents
- Tool Box Activity pads and posters
- References to additional information and resources
- Training delivered by trained KHST® professionals
Participants will gain the following from this training:
- Knowledge and awareness of causes and effects of childhood stress from professionals who work with families with young children
- Information about how to apply stress management techniques designed to help young children cope more effectively with stress
- Enhanced skills for those working with parents and young children
- Information and materials to share with parents so parents can help their children
